Useful Resources

Reading is one of the most helpful tools we have to help us grow in our faith. I have personally learned a great deal from books and articles that I have read over the years and I wanted to make some recommendations based on resources that have been helpful and influential to me over the years.

Life to Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer:  A great resource for discipleship and what it means to be part of the church.

The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer: A resource that digs deep into what the life of following Jesus is all about.

Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster: An introduction to the spiritual disciplines and why they matter.

New City Catechism: A useful tool to help understand the basic components of the faith. Useful videos, books, and apps. Resources available for children and adults.

How to Read the Bible For All Its Worth: by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stewart: Helps you to better study and understand the scriptures.

In the Grip of Grace by Max Lucado: A helpful read on the nature of grace.

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis: Helps the reader better understand and defend the faith.

discipleship.org: A fantastic resource made up of blogs, books, webinars, and more for teaching about discipleship.

The Disiplemaker’s Handbook: 7 Elements of a Discipleship Lifestyle by Bobby Harrington and Josh Patrick: A must-read for those who want to make disciples or are looking to create discipleship programming.

I hope this is a helpful list of resources for you. I’ll be adding to the list of resources from time to time.
