He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.
– Colossians 1:28-29
God has called us to proclaim and teach the faith to others. There are so many different ways that it happens. It occurs in worship, sermons, Sunday School, VBS, prayer meetings, Bible studies, and so many more places. Sometimes, we rely on our own strength, power, and talents to do the work that we have been called to do. Paul reminds us that the work we do for God should be fueled by Him. He gives us the energy and He is the one responsible for the results.
Questions for Reflection:
- Do you rely on God for strength when you share/teach your faith to others?
- In what ways are you proclaiming and teaching the faith to others?
Lord, May we boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. Help us to do so in faith through your strength and power instead of our own. Equip and empower us to live into the calling you have placed upon each of our lives and provide us with opportunities to faithful to the call. May we entrust the results to you.
