But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9
Most of us probably have a busy weekend before us. There may be some fun things on the schedule. Perhaps some time with family or friends. Perhaps some time in worship at church. You may also have a hard weekend in front of you. Maybe you don’t know where you are going to get the strength you need to get through it. We all have those moments when we are unsure about our ability to cope. If you are wondering if you have the strength to make it through whatever you have before you this weekend, remember that God’s grace is with you and that He works in the midst of your weakness.
Questions for Reflection:
- How do you cope when you have difficult tasks before you that are out of your comfort zone?
- Do you trust in God’s strength or in your own?
- What kinds of things do you boast in?
Lord, grant us your grace as we transition into the weekend. May we deal with every circumstance by relying on your strength and not our own.
