Welcome to my site! I hope your time hear bears fruit in your faith journey.
I am passionate about helping people develop a deeper faith in Jesus Christ. That is at the core of what this blog will be about. Discipleship and Spiritual formation aren’t easy topics to discuss, nor are they easy concepts to live out on a daily basis. In his book The Cost of Discipleship, Dietrich Bonhoeffer reminds us of that fact.
When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.
Jesus commands us to follow Him, but what does that look like? How do we do follow him faithfully? Where should we devote our time, money, gifts, and other resources? What does it mean to be part of the Body of Christ? What does it mean to be obedient in a post-Christian culture? What is the Holy Spirit’s role in the process? How do we disciple others? What are the most effective ways to evangelize? How do I fit discipleship into my already busy schedule? These questions, along with many others are important ones to answer. It’s my goal to help you figure out the answers to these and other discipleship and spiritual formation related questions that you might have.
I’ll be spending my time here writing my thoughts and practical tips about discipleship and spiritual formation. I’ll also be reviewing and recommending other resources that may be of help to you along the way. Discipleship is a journey best walked in community and nobody should walk it alone.
Jesus understood that discipleship comes with a cost and he told his disciples this in Luke 9:23.
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
Discipleship and spiritual formation are not easy facets of our faith, but they are necessary components. Let us walk the journey of faithfulness together as we learn how to deny ourselves, take up our cross everyday, and follow where Jesus is leading us.
